For Australian companies
Software development company for Australia: senior offshore developers for Australian companies
We build web, mobile and AI products for Australian start-ups and SMBs from our engineering offices in Lahore and Sialkot. Pakistan is five or six hours behind Sydney and three hours behind Perth, so your afternoon is our working day, and the privacy, contract and IP work is done before the first line of code.

Short answer
Innovation Insight is a software development company in Pakistan that builds for Australian companies, including CareFlair, a commission-free NDIS marketplace. Senior engineers cost $25 to $49 an hour, MVPs $15k to $45k. Pakistan (UTC+5) is five hours behind Sydney in winter and six in summer, giving a shared Sydney afternoon and most of the Perth day. We sign contracts that support your APP 8 obligations and assign all IP to you on payment.

What we build for Australian companies
Australian teams usually come to us with one of three problems: a product idea that needs an MVP without a Sydney agency budget, an in-house team that cannot hire senior engineers fast enough, or a platform built by a freelancer that now needs to be made safe to grow. We work across the stack, and we are open about where our first-hand experience is deepest.
| What you need | What we deliver | Relevant work |
|---|---|---|
| Two-sided marketplace | Matching and search, messaging, bookings, reviews, payouts, admin and moderation tools | CareFlair, Seek My Service |
| Care and health-adjacent apps | Role-based access, verification workflows, accessible design, audit trails, encrypted personal data | CareFlair, Zeuss (US telehealth) |
| SaaS product | Multi-tenant architecture, subscriptions, onboarding, reporting and an admin console | Edge OCR, TamTracker |
| Mobile app | React Native or Flutter apps with a backend and store releases | LogFish |
| AI features | Document extraction, retrieval over your content, assistants inside an existing product | GovDoc AI |
| Extra engineers | Senior developers inside your team, on your tools and sprint process | See IT staff augmentation |
Time zones: what the overlap really is
Pakistan Standard Time is UTC+5 all year, with no daylight saving. Our core hours are 9:00 to 19:00 PKT. Australia's offset from us changes twice a year in the south-eastern states, so the overlap depends on where you sit and the month. Daylight saving started on 4 October 2026, so Sydney is currently six hours ahead of Lahore.
| Your city | Time zone | Hours ahead of Lahore | Shared business hours with our standard day |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra, Hobart (April to October) | AEST, UTC+10 | 5 | 14:00 to 17:30 your time, about 3.5 hours |
| Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra, Hobart (October to April) | AEDT, UTC+11 | 6 | 15:00 to 17:30 your time, about 2.5 hours |
| Brisbane (all year) | AEST, UTC+10 | 5 | 14:00 to 17:30, about 3.5 hours |
| Adelaide (winter / summer) | ACST UTC+9:30 / ACDT UTC+10:30 | 4.5 / 5.5 | 13:30 to 17:30 in winter, 14:30 to 17:30 in summer |
| Perth (all year) | AWST, UTC+8 | 3 | 12:00 to 17:30, about 5.5 hours |
For east-coast teams that want more live time, especially during AEDT, the squad starts early on request: a 7:00 PKT start is 12:00 in Brisbane and 13:00 in Sydney in summer, which puts the whole Australian afternoon inside our day. The other side of the arithmetic is useful too. Work you hand over at 17:00 in Sydney arrives at 11:00 or 12:00 in Lahore, so the team has a full day on it before your next morning.
How we work across the time difference
- Stand-up in your early afternoon, usually 14:00 or 15:00 Sydney time, in your Slack or Teams, kept to 15 minutes.
- A written end-of-day note from the delivery lead that lands in your evening: what shipped, what is blocked, which decisions are needed from you.
- Pull requests reviewed within one working day, and preview deployments for every change so your product owner can check work at 8:00 without waiting for us.
- Two-week sprints with a recorded demo, so stakeholders who miss the live session can watch it on the train the next morning.
- A decision log in your Notion or Confluence: questions asked in your morning get answered in writing, and nobody waits a day for a call.
- An on-call rota that covers your launch week, with an engineer reachable during your business hours when real users are on the system.
Privacy Act 1988, APP 8 and the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme
If your business is covered by the Privacy Act 1988, letting an offshore team handle personal information is usually a cross-border disclosure under Australian Privacy Principle 8. The OAIC's guidelines give the example of a retailer that hands customer data to an overseas firm to process orders. APP 8.1 requires you to take reasonable steps to ensure the overseas recipient does not breach the APPs, and section 16C makes you accountable for what the recipient does with the data. An enforceable contract is the step the OAIC generally expects.
The OAIC also explains that sharing data can be a use rather than a disclosure when you keep effective control: a binding contract that limits handling, the same terms flowing to subcontractors, and your power to access, retrieve or delete the data. That is how we prefer to set projects up, and it is good engineering anyway.
- A contract clause that binds us to handle personal information consistently with the APPs and only for your purposes, with the same terms for anyone we involve.
- Production data stays in your own cloud account, usually in the AWS Sydney or Azure Australia East region. Engineers work against seeded or masked data by default.
- Named, time-limited access to production for specific tasks, with MFA, managed devices and audit logs you can read.
- Return or deletion of data at the end of the engagement, confirmed in writing.
- Breach support: under the NDB scheme you must assess a suspected eligible breach within 30 days and notify affected individuals and the OAIC where serious harm is likely. Our contract requires us to tell you about any suspected incident promptly and give you the logs to complete that assessment.
Health information, including disability and support needs, is sensitive information under the Act and raises the bar on what counts as reasonable steps. This is general information, not legal advice; your privacy officer or lawyer should confirm your position.
NDIS and care-sector software
Our Australian case study is CareFlair, a commission-free marketplace that connects NDIS participants with independent support workers and registered providers, live at careflair.com.au. A team of two mobile engineers, one backend engineer and one designer took it to store release in 16 weeks and has supported it since. The work taught us what care-sector software needs that a generic marketplace does not.
| Need | How we handled it on CareFlair |
|---|---|
| Worker trust | NDIS Worker Screening Check verification workflows, reviews with moderation, and reporting tools for admins |
| Finding support nearby | Geospatial search on MongoDB 2dsphere indexes, combined with text search, availability and service-type filters |
| Accessibility | A design system aligned to WCAG guidelines, with screen reader support, keyboard navigation and high-contrast design |
| Four kinds of user | Separate experiences and permissions for participants, support workers, providers and admins |
| Communication | Real-time messaging on Socket.io with read receipts, typing indicators and persistent history |
| Participant choice | No lock-in: participants can continue a support relationship off the platform |
We ran user research with participants and support workers before any wireframes. If you are building for the care sector, budget for that research: the people using the product often rely on assistive technology, and a flow that tests well with staff can still fail them.
Contracts, IP and payment
- Mutual NDA before any technical discussion; our mutual NDA template shows the terms we start from.
- A master agreement and a statement of work per project, or your own MSA if you prefer. We review governing-law and liability clauses for your jurisdiction case by case.
- Full IP assignment on payment, with repositories, cloud accounts and app store listings created in your name from day one.
- Invoices in USD, monthly or per milestone, payable by wire or card. Budget in AUD with an exchange-rate buffer and ask your accountant how GST applies to services imported from overseas.
What it costs, and how that compares with hiring in Australia
| What you are building | Our price | Typical timeline | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Discovery and estimate | $3k to $8k | 1 to 2 weeks | Credited against the build if you go ahead |
| MVP: one platform, core flows, admin, payments | $15k to $45k | 8 to 14 weeks | Most Australian start-up MVPs land here |
| Full product: web and mobile, integrations, roles, reporting | $50k to $150k+ | 4 to 9 months | Usually fixed price per milestone after discovery |
| Dedicated squad of three engineers | $11,000 to $15,000 per month | Ongoing, 30 days' notice | Delivery lead included at no extra charge |
| Individual engineer | $3,000 to $7,800 per month, or $25 to $49 per hour for seniors | Ongoing | Two-week free replacement if someone is not a fit |
| Support after launch | $1.5k to $8k per month | Monthly | Monitoring, updates, small changes and security patches |
For a local comparison we use government data rather than agency marketing. Jobs and Skills Australia puts the median full-time weekly earnings of Software and Applications Programmers (ANZSCO 2613) at A$2,537, from ABS May 2025 data (checked October 2026). That is about A$11,000 a month in salary before the 12 percent superannuation guarantee, payroll tax, leave, recruitment fees and equipment. At an exchange rate of 0.60 to 0.70 US dollars per Australian dollar, salary alone is roughly US$6,600 to US$7,700 a month. A senior engineer from us costs $4,000 to $6,600 a month, all-in.
The honest reading: the saving against a single median hire is real but not dramatic at the top of our band. The larger gains are speed (engineers join within 5 to 10 business days instead of a three-month search), seniority you might not be able to hire locally, and a team with QA and design you can scale down with 30 days' notice. Our hiring in Australia vs offshore post and the offshore team cost calculator work through the numbers in more detail.
Engagement models
| Model | How it is priced | Best for | What you control |
|---|---|---|---|
| Discovery sprint | $3k to $8k, one to two weeks, credited against the build | Any new product or a rescue where the scope is unclear | Written scope, architecture note, clickable prototype and a fixed estimate you can take elsewhere |
| Fixed price | $15k to $45k for an MVP, $50k to $150k+ for a full product | A defined first release with a deadline | Scope, milestones and acceptance criteria agreed in a statement of work |
| Time and materials | $25 to $49 per hour, billed monthly with a budget cap | An evolving roadmap where priorities change every sprint | Backlog order, sprint goals and the monthly cap |
| Dedicated squad | $11,000 to $15,000 per month for three engineers | A product team that runs for a year or more | Team shape, roadmap, hiring approval and the delivery lead's priorities |
| Staff augmentation | $3,000 to $7,800 per engineer per month | Adding one or two engineers to your own team and process | Day-to-day direction; we handle employment, equipment and replacement |
How a first project runs
- A 30-minute call in your afternoon, and a written reply within one business day with questions, a rough range or a proposed discovery sprint.
- Discovery ($3k to $8k, one to two weeks): scope, prototype, architecture note, privacy and data-flow notes, and a fixed estimate.
- Meet and approve the engineers before they start.
- First working demo within 10 days of kickoff, then sprint demos every two weeks.
- Launch with an engineer on call in your hours, then a support retainer or a continuing squad.

Questions we get asked a lot.
How much does it cost to hire a software development company for an Australian project?
With us, an MVP costs $15k to $45k, a full product $50k to $150k+, and a senior engineer $25 to $49 an hour or $4,000 to $6,600 a month. Discovery costs $3k to $8k and is credited against the build. Prices are in USD.
Do you have an office or company in Australia?
No. Our offices are in Lahore and Sialkot, Pakistan, and we contract from there. We work in your hours, sign your NDA and assign IP to you on payment.
How much overlap will we get with Sydney or Melbourne?
With our standard 9:00 to 19:00 PKT day, about 3.5 hours of your afternoon in winter (AEST) and 2.5 hours in summer (AEDT). An early start on request extends that to most of the afternoon. Perth gets about 5.5 hours.
Can an offshore team work on data covered by the Privacy Act?
Yes, with the right contract and setup. APP 8 expects reasonable steps such as an enforceable contract, and you stay accountable under section 16C. We keep data in your Australian cloud region, limit and log access, and bind ourselves to the APPs in the contract.
Have you built NDIS software before?
Yes. We designed and built CareFlair, a commission-free NDIS marketplace with Worker Screening Check verification, geospatial search, messaging and WCAG-aligned design, and we support it today.
Which currency do you invoice in?
USD, monthly or per milestone, by wire or card. Most Australian clients budget in AUD with a buffer for exchange-rate movement.
