- Performance and accessibility review before launch
How the engagement ran.
Context
Matterbooks is a digital publishing platform with a strong visual identity. The client needed a web product that matched that brand in every detail while giving readers and publishers a fast, reliable experience. The engagement covered design, front-end development and the integration of brand assets and content workflows.
How we worked
Two engineers, a designer and a project manager worked closely with the client's brand owner, reviewing screens together each week before they were built. The front end was implemented as a component library derived from the brand guidelines, with responsive layouts and performance budgets checked on every pull request. Content workflows were tested with the client's own material rather than placeholder text, and the hand-over included documentation for editors so the client could publish without engineering support.
What changed.
- A platform the client says matches its brand identity and exceeds its original expectations.
- A collaborative process the client described as responsive and creative.
- A launch-ready product delivered within the agreed window.
