Top AI Agent Development Companies in 2026: A Verified Shortlist
Nine AI agent development companies checked in October 2026: consultancies, specialist studios and offshore teams, with named projects, HQ and pricing.

Short answer
The AI agent development companies worth shortlisting in 2026 fall into three groups: large consultancies with agent platforms (Thoughtworks, Deloitte), specialist AI studios with named production agents (Vstorm, Tribe AI, Markovate) and nearshore or offshore engineering firms (10Clouds, Netguru, STX Next, Innovation Insight). Only Netguru and Innovation Insight publish prices: a 3,000 EUR workshop and $25k to $60k for an AI MVP respectively. Ask every vendor for a production agent, not a proof of concept.
How we built this list
We searched for companies that sell AI agent development as a service, then opened each company's own website in October 2026 and recorded only what it said. Several well-known firms were left out because their sites blocked our requests or because their pages described agents in general terms without a single named client. The rules:
- Facts come only from the company's own website, opened in October 2026. If a page did not state a fact (a founding year, a headquarters), we left it out rather than filling it from directories or memory.
- Each company had to show at least one named, public project or client in this area. Logo walls without a described project did not count.
- No scores and no ranking. Companies are grouped by type, and the "best for" line reflects what each one publicly shows, not a private judgement of quality.
- Prices are listed only where the company publishes them. Most do not publish prices.
- Innovation Insight is held to the same rules: only work from our own published case studies, and only the prices on our pricing page.
One more rule specific to agents: we note when a vendor's flagship example is a proof of concept. A proof of concept that scores well in a demo is a different thing from an agent handling real orders every day, and several of the best-known examples in this market are the former.

Large consultancies
Thoughtworks
Thoughtworks was founded in Chicago in 1993 and reports more than 10,000 people in 47 offices across 18 countries. Its AI page describes production agents built on AI/works, its agentic development platform, and governed by Agent/works, a control plane that observes and cost-manages agents. Named AI work includes preclinical data work for Bayer and the Antibiogo app for Médecins Sans Frontières; its one agentic example is an unnamed life-sciences client. Best for: large organisations that want governance, observability and spend control designed in from the start.
Deloitte
Deloitte sells Zora AI, which it calls a digital workforce platform built on NVIDIA AI, offered as SaaS or deployed into a client's own cloud or data centre, with integrations into SAP Joule Agents and Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications. The named example is CFO Insights, co-developed with HPE. Best for: finance and back-office functions already standardised on SAP or Oracle who want packaged agents more than a custom build.
Specialist AI studios
Vstorm
Vstorm describes itself as an agentic AI engineering company and says it has been building AI systems since 2017, with an office in Wrocław. It publishes open-source agent tooling and covers agent development, RAG, evaluation and observability. Its named case study for Mixam is a three-agent print-order advisor built with PydanticAI, FastAPI and RAG; another for Synera generates engineering workflows from text. Both case studies report results, which are Vstorm's own figures. Best for: product companies that want a production multi-agent system and an evaluation discipline around it.
Tribe AI
Tribe AI lists offices in New York, San Francisco and Lisbon and states it is SOC 2 Type II certified. Its model is to embed senior AI engineers with the client team through a Map, Build and Activate sequence. Named case studies include Sumo Logic, Kyruus Health, MyFitnessPal and Galley, several of them built on Claude. Best for: companies that want experienced AI engineers working inside their own team rather than a handed-over deliverable.
Markovate
Markovate offers agents and assistants wired into existing systems for approvals, scheduling and operations, and sells its own AI products for construction and engineering drawings: AI Takeoff, a blueprint classifier and P&ID digitisation. Its site names clients only through testimonials (CodmanAI and MPP Innovation); its case studies are anonymised. Best for: construction, manufacturing and document-heavy workflows where a ready-made drawing model saves months.
Nearshore and offshore engineering firms
10Clouds
10Clouds has been building software since 2009 and lists a Warsaw address. Its agent work targets financial institutions: customer service, onboarding and KYC, claims and advisory, with its own AIConsole orchestration layer. The named BNP Paribas Bank Polska project is a conversational account-opening proof of concept, which the case study says plainly; Polfund, an AI procurement-discovery tool, is the second named project. Best for: banks and fintechs.
Netguru
Netguru, based in Poznań, sells an AI Agents Workshop that ends with a roadmap for pilots, at a published price of 3,000 EUR, then staffs builds through AI pods. Named work includes an ARC Europe claims agent (a proof of concept) and an AI R&D assistant for Merck. Best for: buyers who want a paid, fixed-price discovery step before committing to a build.
STX Next
STX Next is a Poznań company with offices in London, Eschborn and Houston and a delivery centre in Mérida, Mexico. It builds agents on Amazon Bedrock and AgentCore, Microsoft Copilot Studio and AI Foundry, and enterprise n8n. Named work includes LLM knowledge retrieval for Linde and automation for Mattioli Woods. Best for: Python, AWS or Microsoft organisations, and teams that want agent workflows on n8n.
Innovation Insight
Innovation Insight was founded in 2019, has its headquarters in Lahore and an engineering office in Sialkot, and employs 50+ engineers, designers and project managers. Our agent and LLM work in production: for GovDoc AI we built a RAG pipeline on AWS Bedrock with a three-pass extraction (extract, audit for missing sections, fill gaps) that pulls 50+ data points from each government contract. For Chat Your History we built interviews over web chat, Twilio SMS and Twilio voice that GPT-4 turns into story chapters. For a US security company, Vertex AI reviews every body-camera incident and records provider, model, prompt and temperature. Published prices: an AI MVP at $25k to $60k, an AI feature in an existing product at $8k to $60k, senior engineers at $25 to $49 an hour. Best for: startups and SMBs that want a priced, senior-led build. Details on our AI agent development page.
Who we checked and left out
Accenture and LeewayHertz both describe agent platforms on their sites but name no client for agent work, so they did not meet the criteria. N-iX and Simform have agent service pages, but none of the named work on those pages is agent work. EPAM, Globant, Master of Code and BairesDev blocked our requests, so we could not verify them in October 2026. Faculty and Datatonic showed no agent-specific offering on the pages we opened. Leaving a company out says nothing about its quality: it means we could not check it to the standard above.
How to choose an AI agent development company
- Ask to see an agent in production, with real users or real transactions, and ask how long it has been running. Separate proofs of concept from shipped systems.
- Ask how they evaluate agents: a test set of real tasks, a pass rate tracked per release, and a replay test suite for regressions. No answer here is a red flag.
- Ask what happens when the agent is wrong: human approval steps, limits on what tools it can call, and an audit log of every action it took.
- Ask for a cost model per task or per conversation, including model tokens, vector search and telephony, before you sign. Our AI agent cost calculator gives a starting figure.
- Check model portability: can you switch between Claude, GPT and open models without rewriting the agent?
- Ask for two references from projects like yours, and call them. A case study on a website is the vendor's version of events.
- Interview the engineers who will actually do the work, not only the sales lead or a solutions architect who leaves after the kickoff.
- Get the rate card by seniority and the planned team mix in writing. A low blended rate often hides a junior-heavy team.

LinkedInRelated questions.
What does an AI agent development company actually build?
Software in which a language model decides which tools or APIs to call to complete a task: answering and acting on support tickets, processing claims, extracting contract data, qualifying leads by phone. The engineering work is mostly integrations, guardrails, evaluation and monitoring around the model.
How much does it cost to hire an AI agent development company?
Most vendors do not publish prices. Netguru publishes a 3,000 EUR agent workshop. Innovation Insight publishes $8k to $60k for an AI feature in an existing product and $25k to $60k for an AI MVP. Large consultancies typically price agent programmes much higher.
Should I choose a large consultancy or a specialist studio?
A consultancy fits when agents are one part of an enterprise programme with procurement, governance and change management. A specialist studio or a smaller engineering firm fits when you need one working agent shipped quickly and want to talk directly to the engineers building it.
Why are some well-known AI companies not on this list?
We included only companies whose own websites we could open in October 2026 and that showed a named project in agent work. Several sites blocked automated requests and several agent pages named no clients.
Is a proof of concept a good sign?
It shows a vendor can get a demo working. Ask what happened next: whether it went to production, how many real tasks it handles, and how its accuracy is measured over time.
